Our Story
Afros & Mo’s story begins with a void that needed to be filled. Started by Twin sisters Maria and Maggie, who by the time had embarked on their own natural hair journey. Hair and Beauty are areas the twins are so passionate about and hence their Natural Hair journey was one they found much inner sense of personal beauty & pride. It wasn’t too long that they started receiving lots of compliments on their hair and questions on how others can achieve the same. There was really no beauty salon then catering to Natural hair and its specific needs. That’s when the two realized there was a need for the service and hence the birth of Afros & Mo (More). Maggie made the most difficult decision to resign her full-time Bank job to gamble on a new journey that many were so skeptical about…. a business in Natural Haircare.
Afros & Mo is the very first fully-fledged Natural Haircare Provider in Uganda and is located in the heart of Kampala city, Uganda, at Mukwano Courts, Buganda Rd, Level 5 & Marigold Heights, Bukoto-Ntinda, Level 2.
We are passionate about hair care and fascinated with the intricacy of the structure of our Afro-textured hair. We cater to the needs of Natural hair, but not limited to the healthy maintenance of relaxed hair.
Afros & Mo is dedicated to finding solutions to your hair troubles, and offer workable insight on proper healthy hair habits and maintenance. Our Mission is to bring about real change in the hair care industry in Uganda, through the practice of healthy hair management and uplifting our African beauty by embracing, loving, and understanding our individually unique textures of Natural hair.
We are dedicated to educating women on proper healthy hair habits, Inspiring the women and girls to embrace their natural hair, and bringing you the latest styles that are creating a buzz around the natural hair community all over the world. Finally, we hope that showcasing how fabulous natural hair can be will attract more women to learn to embrace their Afros and rock them with Power & Pride.
Professional Staff
Welcome to Afros & Mo where our team of trained, experienced and professional stylists and support staff are on standby to give you the best services. We have often heard that we got the best staff in our field of the beauty industry. We offer beauty treatments for ladies including hairdressing, make-up, facial, and lately added cafe services.You will notice we have different uniforms amongst our team. Each uniform represents a particular section of our service and the various roles of the team. We are therefore a teamwork-based operation that ensures our customers are served to the highest capacity of excellency.
Our Team Leaders
Ritah
She is our Head Hair Stylist and the creative supervisor and inspiration for our stylists. She is in charge of skill set training plus assists our stylists in doing the best for our customers when it comes to Hairstyles. She is happy to assist you to choose the best style and ensure it’s done well.
Jennipher
She is our customer care relations manager. She’s in charge of contacting our customers about their service experience and helping find areas of continual change, improvement, and execution in how we deliver our services. Through our customer feedback, we are able to catch the areas in which we need to do better. She’s more than happy to be of any assistance to you.
Sarah
She is the head of our Cafe department team. She ensures that our cafe is well stocked as we as making sure that our customers are getting well-prepared meals and that they are served to their expectations. She’s happy to be of assistance especially when it comes to your meals.
Kathy
She is our Bridal team leader. She takes care of bridal bookings and consultations. She ensures our brides are well taken care of in making their best day as wonderful as possible. She also multi-tasks in the salon with various roles as they come.
